Evangeline Downs

This is the final project from my photojournalism class.

I chose to focus on racehorse trainers, and others who devote their lives to the animals, and the life they live behind the scenes of a nationally prominent racetrack. I wanted to capture the passion and truth of those who work day and night for these racehorses and their own fascinating stories.

However, the project evolved into what it is now.

As the project began coming together, I realized that the story was more about the horses, and their role at the racetrack, with those who work around them adding to their stories.
